Every story has a beginning.

For Roadstand Hollow, that beginning was The Wishkeeper’s Corner.

When the doors of that little shop first opened, there was no way of knowing just how far its roads would eventually travel. What began with Elias, Miriam, a mysterious shop, and wishes that rarely behaved as expected has grown into an entire world—one filled with lanterns, forgotten roads, peculiar markets, old mysteries, familiar faces, and places that seem to appear precisely when someone needs them.

And like Roadstand Hollow itself, the first book has continued to grow.

Since its original publication, The Wishkeeper’s Corner has been carefully revisited and refined. The story and characters that introduced readers to the Hollow remain at its heart, while the current edition benefits from additional polishing to its presentation, dialogue flow, pacing, and overall reading experience.

There are nights in Roadstand Hollow when the streets grow quiet, the fog settles between the buildings, and every lantern seems to be keeping a secret.

Tonight, one of those secrets has been opened.

The second book in The Lantern Market Chronicles returns readers to a part of the Hollow where wishes are not always given freely—and where some people have discovered that nearly anything can be bought, sold, hidden, or traded after dark.

Something has changed beyond the Clock Tower.

For three books, readers have wandered the familiar streets of Roadstand Hollow. They have visited the Wishkeeper's Corner, followed roads that remember, encountered wishes that sometimes have ideas of their own, and discovered that the Hollow rarely gives travelers exactly what they expect. Now the road continues.

Some places are remembered because we have been there. Others stay with us for reasons that are harder to explain.

Roadstand Hollow has always belonged to the second kind.

Readers have walked its streets through stories, crossed its bridges, noticed lanterns glowing through the rain, wandered past familiar storefronts, and followed roads that sometimes seem to remember more than the travelers upon them. Yet until now, most of those places have lived primarily in words and imagination.

That has changed.

Most books are read from beginning to end.  A few remarkable ones quietly invite you back.  Not because you missed the ending—but because the ending changes the beginning.

As Roadstand Hollow has grown from a single story into a larger journey, I've found myself thinking about something curious. There are moments that seem simple the first time you encounter them. A conversation. A lantern glowing in the distance. A bell ringing only once. Someone saying a few quiet words that don't seem especially important.

Then, several chapters—or even another book—later, those same moments begin to shine differently. Nothing has changed on the page.  The reader has.  That may be one of my favorite kinds of storytelling. The sort that doesn't reveal all of its treasures at once, but trusts you to discover them in your own time.

I've often joked that finishing a trilogy can feel like realizing you've been trying to fold a laundry basket that was never emptied first. Once everything is laid out in front of you, suddenly every piece seems to fit exactly where it always belonged.  That's the hope for Roadstand Hollow.

I hope you'll enjoy the first journey because you genuinely want to know what happens next.  But I also hope that when you reach the final page, you'll smile, close the book for a moment......and then feel an unexpected urge to return to the beginning.  Not because you have to.

Because now you'll be reading an entirely different story.

There is one evening each year when Roadstand Hollow seems to glow from the inside out.

No one marks the date on a calendar. No invitations are mailed. Yet somehow, everyone knows when it is time. As twilight settles across the Hollow, blue lanterns begin appearing on porches, shop windows, fences, and along quiet paths that wind through town. By nightfall, the streets shimmer with soft blue light.

Some visitors believe every lantern tells a story. Others say each light represents a wish that found its way home.

Some stories are written. Some stories are sung. Roadstand Hollow has always felt like both.

Long before every chapter is finished, music begins finding its way into the Hollow. Sometimes it arrives while a scene is still taking shape. Sometimes a single line of dialogue echoes for days until it becomes the first lyric of a song. Other times, it is simply the feeling of a place that refuses to leave.

That is how the songs of Roadstand Hollow are born. They are not retellings of the books. They are companions.

If you spend enough time in Roadstand-Hollow, one object begins to appear again and again.

A blue lantern.

Sometimes it hangs outside a quiet little shop. Sometimes it glows beside an empty road just before dusk. Other times it waits in the distance, almost hidden by fog, as though it has been expecting someone all along.

People often ask the same question.

Some stories begin with a single sentence. Roadstand Hollow began with a single road.

Long before the books found their covers, before the maps were drawn, and before the first blue lantern glowed in the evening fog, there was a feeling that refused to leave. It was quiet. Hopeful. Familiar. Like remembering a place that somehow remembered you.
