Some places are remembered because we have been there. Others stay with us for reasons that are harder to explain.
Roadstand Hollow has always belonged to the second kind.
Readers have walked its streets through stories, crossed its bridges, noticed lanterns glowing through the rain, wandered past familiar storefronts, and followed roads that sometimes seem to remember more than the travelers upon them. Yet until now, most of those places have lived primarily in words and imagination.
That has changed.
The Watercolors of Roadstand Hollow have begun bringing those places out of the pages and onto the canvas.
The first collection is inspired by Series 1, Book 1 — The Wishkeeper's Corner and includes 23 individually cataloged watercolor plates. Together, they offer a visual journey through the places, moments, and atmosphere surrounding the first Roadstand Hollow story.
These were never intended simply to illustrate scenes from a book.
The idea was to create paintings that could stand on their own—quiet pieces of art that still feel unmistakably connected to the Hollow. A rainy street. A welcoming shop. A lantern glowing against the evening. An old road disappearing toward somewhere just beyond sight.
Each watercolor carries its own RH-WC catalogue number, allowing the growing collection to remain connected to the story and book that inspired it as Roadstand Hollow continues to expand.
And this is only the beginning.
Future books will bring new streets, new landmarks, new seasons and new moments worthy of finding their way into watercolor. In time, the collection should become something of a visual history of Roadstand Hollow—one painting at a time.
